BBC Radio Lancs 26th July 2021: Nishma Hindocha & Julie Bradshaw MBE – Adam Peaty MBE Olympic Gold

Nishma Hindocha of BBC Radio Lancashire spoke with Dr Julie Bradshaw MBE on the day that Adam Peaty MBE became the first British Man to retain an Olympic title with his Gold for Team GB in the Men’s 100m Breaststroke in a time of 57.13. There was also more success in the pool, with Tom Daley and Matty Lee winning Gold, in the diving pairs.

Julie spoke about the amazing swim by Adam Peaty and his training at Loughborough University and how she, too has trained for her own world records in marathon and long distance and English Channel. With the recent hot weather there has been tragedy with people swimming in open water to cool down.

Nishma asked Julie for her advice on keeping safe when swimming in outdoor waters and about the event she runs ie. the Blackpool Pier to Pier Swim.
