More butterfly record swims this summer 2011

In the summer of 2011, Dr. Julie Bradshaw MBE, nicknamed ‘Madfish’ will attempt to become the first female to swim around Manhattan Island, New York, using the butterfly stroke known to be the hardest most gruelling stroke of them all. She will be swimming in an event organised by nycswim. Julie who last year added a 19th world record to her list with a Medley English Channel relay, hopes this will add to the list.

And New York is not the only plan. Julie plans to use this as a warm up to her UK swim later on in the year, The Humber which again has never before been done before butterfly by any person. This will be her 20th world record. Again Julie will be raising money for charity, Rainbows Children’s Hospice. The total cost of her swims amount to £3500 and Dr. Bradshaw is appealing to business/individuals to cover the outlay. Any financial donations are welcomed and can be made by contacting Julie on 07941 467291
